Artist’s statement
I am researching the origin of creativity, of myth, of that which is human.
The search has led me to experiment with materials from the mineral, plant, and animal lineage; to let the elements work on them and to master the human skill for manipulation, reorder, and preservation.
With each layer uncovered more potential and beauty incarnates. And more responsibility.
That is the nature and the wisdom ( the nature of wisdom) - it goes hand in hand with sensitivity; if our senses are sharpened and acute, and our mind is clear and vast, and our heart is open and clean, every act is act of the spirit.
It is my conviction that this is our origin.
As Tom Fort states in his book ‘ the Book of Eels’:
“Primitve is not backwards, but it is that which has become perfect earlier.”
I am searching for my way home. I wish that I would not mind how long it takes.
